The fourth round of games in the new Premier League season was played over the weekend, and it was indeed one of the best matchdays in the history of the competition.

Everton Maintain 100% Record: The Toffees once again showed they are the team to challenge the big six with another routine victory over Brighton.
Everton are yet to drop points this season, and they maintained that 100% record following a 4-2 win over the Seagulls.
The new signings, James Rodriguez, Abdoulaye Doucoure and Allan, have elevated them from a mid-table team to a title challenger.
Rodriguez scored twice and provided an assist in Saturday’s win. His class has shown in all the games Everton have played this season.
But the new signings are not the only players behind Everton’s brilliant start. The Toffees have also benefited from the improved form of Dominic Calvert Lewin, who is currently the joint topscorer with six goals.
Although it’s still early, Everton are in the title race and top four battle this season. They will, however, face their first real challenge after the international break when they welcome champions, Liverpool.
Chelsea Back To Winning Ways: The Blues have been winless in their last two league games, but they picked up the maximum points on Saturday courtesy of a 4-0 win over Crystal Palace.
Chelsea had to comeback from three goals down to salvage a draw against West Brom. However, they had no such problems against the Eagles.
New signing, Edouard Mendy made his Premier League debut, which means that’s the end of Kepa Arrizabalaga as Chelsea’s number one. Ben Chilwell also made his league debut for the Blues, and he showed why Chelsea paid 50 million pounds for him by scoring the opener and providing the assist for the second.
There are still doubts over Chelsea’s title credentials this season, but Frank Lampard would be relieved to see his side back to winning ways.
Spurs Adapting To Mourinho’s Methods: Tottenham started the season with a disappointing 1-0 loss to Everton. The Lillywhites were rightly criticised after the game as they were lethargic throughout the encounter.
However, it has been a different Spurs following the loss, winning two out of their next three league games. They thrashed Southampton 5-2 at the St. Marys, while on Sunday, they inflicted on Manchester United, their joint heaviest defeat in the Premier League.
Spurs scored six against the Red Devils as Jose Mourinho enjoyed a sweet return to Old Trafford. Mourinho’s men had conceded first inside the opening minute through a Bruno Fernandes penalty.
But Spurs hit back through Tanguy Ndombele before Heung Min Son and Harry Kane scored to turn on the style. Son then scored his second of the match just before half-time.
Serge Aurier added a fifth before Harry Kane’s penalty sealed an emphatic win for the North London side. The win shows the players are now adapting to Jose Mourinho’s method.
Spurs had scored seven in the Europa League clash against Maccabi Haifa, while they also knocked out Chelsea via a penalty shootout in the Carabao Cup.
The only blemish in their last four games in all competition was that controversial 1-1 draw against Newcastle.
Liverpool Are Beatable After All: The Reds are favourites for the title, but Aston Villa gave them a proper beating on Sunday. Liverpool had started the campaign with three straight wins, and it looked like they could go the season unbeaten.
But Villa showed Klopp’s men are beatable following a 7-2 victory at Villa Park. It was a result no one saw coming. While Liverpool are still favourites for the title, the embarrassing result on Sunday should give them a wakeup call.
Problems For Manchester United: It’s going to be a long season for Manchester United following Sunday’s thrashing at the hands of Tottenham.
The Red Devils have won just one of their three Premier League games, and that was the thrilling 3-2 victory over Brighton. They were outplayed for most parts of the encounter and needed an injury-time penalty from Fernandes to take the three points.
Performances on the pitch have not been encouraging with their defence all over the place. It’s also been an average window for them in the Transfer market. The brought in Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani on deadline day, but that’s unlikely to end their struggles.
The Red Devils finished in the top four last season, but it is going to be a real battle achieve the same feat this campaign.
