Sixteen players have arrived Nigeria’s camp in Benin ahead of the Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers against Sierra Leone on Friday and next Tuesday.
The Super Eagles take on their West African rivals in a doubleheader Afcon qualifier with Nigeria hosting the first leg on Friday before the second leg next Tuesday.
Nigeria’s manager, Gernot Rohr, invited 24 players for the two games, and 16 of them have touched base in Benin. Sparta Rotterdam goalkeeper, Maduka Okoye, is the first player to arrive camp on Monday.
Ahmed Musa, Kelechi Iheanacho, Paul Onuachu and Oghenekaro Etebo also arrived in Nigeria on Monday. Then on Tuesday, Joe Aribo, who missed last month’s friendly games, joined the group.
His Rangers teammate, Leon Balogun is also part of the group that arrived on Tuesday. Others include Alex Iwobi, William Troost Ekong, Chidozie Awaziem, Zaidu Sanusi, Tyronne Ebuehi and Kevin Akpoguma.

Newly invited goalkeeper, Sebastian Osigwe is also among the early arrivals, while Ola Aina and Emmanuel Dennis are part of the group that trained on Tuesday evening.
The Super Eagles currently lead their group with six points from two games, and a win from the doubleheader against the Leone Stars will see them qualify for 2022 AFCON
